Then This Happened: Part 52
This just doesn't happen in Southern California. Ever. I've never seen a sky like this one anywhere else other than at home. They happen in the Southwest more often than you think. Southern Cal is often hard to beat but I definitely miss seeing things like this.
Taken with my iPhone. Not too shabby.

Then This Happened: Part 50
I think I'm going skiing this weekend! My home mountain is finally having a decent winter after years of below average snowfall and the stars are aligning for a daytrip on Sunday. It's been years since the last time I skied back home. So much time spent in Southern California hasn't done much for my skiing either. So I gathered all my gear together, packed it in with my clothes for the long weekend at home, and brought it with me in hopes that a Sunday ski-day will work out. I really just need to make it happen. I love to ski.
I've fallen in love with my travel duffel from The North Face. I never realized it before but roller bags weigh a TON. Duffel bags do not. The North Face duffel gives plenty of room and feels indestructible. Bomber proof without question. I wish my ski bag was as nice but that's a purchase that will have to wait.
The North Face makes a really great looking ski roller that would hold boots too but I can't warrant buying that until I'm skiing again more often or until it goes on sale. I do love it though and want it badly. Yes, it has wheels. Yes, it will weigh a alot. But any bag that can carry two pairs of skis, boots to go with them, and leave room for other apparel to pack is going to weigh a bit. Nice, no?
All of my gear is six years old and in need of an upgrade, too. That's also going to have to wait for another day. I'm just stoked to go skiing.

Then This Happened: Part 48
Lots of swimming last weekend and more swimming this weekend. I didn't swim but chose to run instead. My younger brother and sister do swim and they swim a lot. Headed home tomorrow for a final high school state swimming championship meet. It's been quite the journey so far. More swimming after high school for the littlest Lemon? Time will tell.
It's been quite a journey this month for me, too. Literally. So many airplanes.

I'd Love To Go To Vancouver
Vancouver by Minute Impressions from Alexandre Klinke on Vimeo.
Posting more than a photo a day has been a struggle with the Olympics in full swing. I'm not there to see the games in person but I've been watching every evening and with coverage ending around 11:30pm PST, TV time has really cut into photo time.
There will still be at least a photo a day (and maybe more?) but for now, with Vancouver on the world stage, I wanted to share this. Found this over at Poppytalk and really enjoyed it. It's brief, eye catching, and makes me want to visit Vancouver someday. I hope I can make that happen sooner than later.

Then This Happened: Part 46
I just got back from a long weekend in Canton, OH. It was snowing when we landed in Cleveland, snowing when we drove into Canton, and kept snowing on and off for the four days that we were there. I don't think my dad and I saw the sun once. To be honest, I didn't really mind. I miss cold weather and having to wear a jacket. What a great weekend away.

Birthday Cupcakes
My mom has always baked the best treats for my brothers and sister and I, particularly when we're celebrating a birthday. I was (and still am) incredibly spoiled. Someday, I want to be able to bake cupcakes like these ones for my mom on her birthday. They won't have a prayer of rivaling her creations, though because I just don't have that skillset yet. So it won't be happening for me anytime soon. Certainly not this year because I have way too much to learn and no kitchen to learn it all in.
One of these days.
One of these days.
Don't they look amazing? Tasted incredible too. Believe me.
Happy Birthday, Mom! Thank you for everything.

Then This Happened: Part 38
The weekend is already over which means I'll need a cup or two of this in the morning. Hooray for Mondays!
I'll take it black, please.
