Then This Happened: Part 181

In spite of everything, the seas are pretty calm right now.

Then This Happened: Part 179

Sweets and baked goods are huge weaknesses of mine. Especially homemade ones. Yum yum yum.

Then This Happened: Part 178

I've had some terrible luck with travel lately. Delays last weekend flying to and from Miami and then more delays and missed flights this past weekend flying to and from Des Moines. I don't want to set foot on an airplane for at least two months.

Alright, alright. Two weeks then.

Buses. There have been so many times when I've found myself accidentally driving in the bus lane and then realizing that there are no buses using their lane. What's that about?

Then This Happened: Part 174

Summertime is great but when it's hot and humid and I'm pitting out and already sweating through my shirt five minutes out the door, I sometimes miss days like this. I love the sun but some cloud cover and colder temperatures can be good, too. I'm beginning to realize that I do well with the seasons. Too much of the same thing can be a little redundant, no?

What's good for you?

Hope you're all having a nice weekend. I woke up at 4:00a today, watched three World Cup matches, two track & field meets, and took a long nap. Korea won. USA drew. Today was a good day!

Southern California has its share of gloomy days, too. It's not all sun and games.

Then This Happened: Part 159

A couple of months ago, Robby came to San Diego to race the Carlsbad 5k. It wasn't a disaster by any means but it didn't go as well as it could have. Fifty meters into the race, he got tripped up and took a tumble, then quickly picked himself up and finished the race. Definitely not the 5k that he wanted to have.

The Rock 'n' Roll San Diego 1/2 Marathon was this past weekend and Robby was back to give the roads another go. 1:10:25! A new personal best! And no bloody hand!

Congrats, Robby. The boys and I are super proud of you.

Murphy: "Hey man, come play with me."

This past weekend was SO busy. I won't even go into who, what, where, when, why, and how but I will say that helping out with a move can be exhausting and the whole process will usually take longer than anticipated. I missed a couple of posts here and there over the weekend but I'm back on track now.

Be good out there, folks.

Any of you who follow Nimish's blog from time to time have probably seen photos of Ellie. See for yourself here, here, here, and here. Baby Ellie has basically spent a good chunk of her first year or so in front of Nimish's camera and when I surprised Nimish for his Medical School graduation, I finally got to meet her in person. She seemed like an awfully happy baby and happy babies are the absolute best. Pretty sure she's going to be a smart one, too seeing as how she already knows how to spell her own name in letter blocks.

Joking!
