I went to the MVD (or DMV) today to renew my driver's license. I was already feeling a little under the weather and being there only made matters worse. By the time I got home I was reeling with nausea and achiness.

And then I went to the airport to catch my flight.

Feeling sick and going to the MVD is terrible in its own right. Having to then get on a plane, hoping that you'll make it through the trip without an embarrassing and horrible in-flight episode, is just cruel.

At least the sky looked nice after takeoff.

I'm pretty confident making my mom's curry these days. It's never as good as it is when she makes it but hey, at least it turns out alright and reminds me of home.

Tonight was my first go at what appeared to be a simple salmon and couscous dish. Instead of adding salt and paprika to the lemon zest, I added them to the chopped red onion and lemon juice. And like that, with no extra lemon to start things over, it all ended up in the garbage disposal.

Texture is a make or break. This reminds me of the gross coating that gets sprayed on so many home ceilings or the insulation foam that was sprayed to the ceiling of my 7th grade math classroom. Anything sprayed onto a ceiling just doesn't do it for me.

But this isn't a ceiling and maybe that's why it works.
